Chapter 1.16 - Teenage years

Time had passed so quickly and before Amber knew it, it was time to plan Cassandra's birthday party. Her little girl wasn't so little any more. With Bonnie's help she invited as many of the local children and teens as she could to celebrate the occasion.

"Cassie? Why are you wearing your swimsuit?" Bonnie asked.
"Why shouldn't I? It's MY party!" Cassandra replied, then proceeded to dance right in front of her older sister grinning like an idiot.
"Whatever." Bonnie said, shaking her head.
Man, that girl is weird.  She thought.

Cassandra was so excited to blow out the candles on the cake that she didn't even wait for everybody to be in the dining room.
A few people had heard the announcement she made as she walked importantly out of the living room to blow them out and were in there in time to celebrate with her.

Hello teenage years and FREEDOM! She thought

She grabbed a slice of cake before she had even taken the candles off and searched for the best place to eat it. She seemed to be ignoring the fact that people were still cheering and celebrating.

After the cake had been cut, Bonnie and Ulysses danced by the stereo.
"Hey, thanks for coming. You being here makes this whole thing a lot more bearable." Bonnie said.
"Any chance to see you." Ulysses smiled.
"It's a little noisy in here, want to go outside?" She asked

While her sister was with her boyfriend, Cassandra was approached by her father. He looked at her as though trying to decide if she was worthy of his time. He couldn't help but wonder if she was going to follow in the footsteps of her parents. As they stood there, Cassandra rambled about all sorts of nonsense.
Hmmm...maybe not. She is far too...strange...to make it in this business.
"It was good to see you Cassandra." He said, interrupting her senseless chatter, he put his hands on her shoulders, wished her the best and left.

That man is my father? Cassandra wondered. Why was he so...quiet? Doesn't he want to be my dad?

As Bonnie and Ulysses sat on the ground outside of the house, staring up at the night sky, Bonnie couldn't help but feel like the luckiest girl in the world. She had survived high school so far, no matter how much of a hell hole it was. and was dating the hottest guy to have recently graduated.
"Ulysses?" She asked
"Hmm?"
"What was it like graduating?" Her own graduation wasn't too far away, and she couldn't help but wonder what happened at the ceremony.
"It was lame to be honest with you." He said, "They just call your name, hand you a certificate, oh and everyone gets to vote what you're most likely to end up as."
"What you're most likely to end up as?" She asked, confused.
"Yeah, stupid things like "Most likely to burn down their own house" and such stuff."
"Oh...right." I wonder what people will nominate me as?

"Don't you worry about your graduation right now." Ulysses said, "You're gonna be great."
"Okay." Bonnie smiled. "Do you have to leave? Why can't you stay over."
"I'm really sorry, but I have work in the morning." He said.
"Okay." She pouted, then kissed him softly "I love you. Good luck at work tomorrow."
He laughed and said, "Seriously, all I have to do is be super enthusiastic about whatever team is playing. Start off cheers in the crowd and act like a crazy fan. It's not a real job."
"Of course it is!" Bonnie said, "It's a way to get your foot in the door anyway."
"I guess." Ulysses said, "I'll see you soon. I promise." He leant in for a kiss and departed.

Look who finally made it to be Emperor (Empress in this case) of Evil!
Amber had been working her ass off and had finally made it to the top. She was shocked to have actually made it this far with so much time left in her life. Time to make a lot of money and save up for a luxurious retirement.
